Hike/ cycle distances

My goal was when I closed the door behind me [14/07/2010] to hike to Santiago de Compostela and after via North Africa along the Mediterranean sea to Jerusalem [Israel and the Palestinian territories].

In Morocco I discovered that the border between Morocco and Algeria is closed. There was the civil war in Libya what made travelling through this country impossible so I decided to take a small de-tour through West-, Central-, East- and North- East Africa.

Jerusalem I have achieved now.

I am not sponsored by a company or an outlet store [a store for camping gear, hiking gear]. This trip I finance completely myself. I had more or less calculated that I could stay away a year that turned out to be now almost three years...

My goal is actually to stay away from 'home' as long as possible, or at least return to the Netherlands by my own force [by bicycle or by foot].
